Is Sedation Dentistry
Right For You?

After mastering nearly every aspect of dentistry and earning so many credentials Dr. Kacos feels like his most valuable and unique training is in providing IV sedation.  Only 2% of general dentists are licensed to provide this service and even fewer are members of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. Doc acknowledges that his ability to provide sedation has changed more patients’ lives than any other of his services.

The below are considerations for use of sedation in some dental procedures:

Dentistry is no fun for anyone and we all know someone that is petrified of the dentist. Whether you just want to be in la la land to have a dental procedure completed or you want to be totally unaware of your surroundings SDS can provide you with this life-changing care. Dr. Kacos loves helping patient that has been too scared to call the dentist for twenty or thirty years. With sedation these patients get all the care they need in a visit or two and they are totally comfortable. At your sedation consultation, you will determine which level of sedation is right for you.

Is Sedation Dentistry Right For You?

While it’s true that some dental procedures can cause discomfort, modern science has created a solution to help patients with fear and anxiety to cooperate with dental treatments. This is known as Sedation Dentistry.

The below are considerations for use of sedation in some dental procedures:

Most procedures that require drilling or extraction may not require sedation. Although depending on your comfort level, sedation is an option for root canal treatment, extraction, scaling and root planing, tooth trimming, and implant placement.

Kind Words From Our Patients

"Full confession: the dentist office is a place of anxiety for me. That said, Dr. Kacos’ office is absolutely fantastic, and today Leslie did an amazing job - she eased my stress and made the whole procedure easy (and my teeth look/feel great!). They also did an impressive job with their covid-19 procedures, and at no time was I uncomfortable."
